Presentation: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District--Priorities and Projects

Keynote Speaker: Lieutenant Colonel David C. Park

LTC Park commands the 500-person Philadelphia District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 2001 and a Master’s in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science and Technology. He has served in military assignments in Giessen, Germany; Fort Hood, TX; Fort Benning, GA; Camp Henry, Korea; Office of the Chief of Engineers at the Pentagon; and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency at Fort Belvoir, VA; as well as two combat deployments to Iraq. Presentation: U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District--Priorities and Projects

Established in 1866, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Philadelphia District encompasses the 13,000-square-mile Delaware River Basin and the Atlantic Coast from New Jersey’s Manasquan Inlet to the Delaware-Maryland line. Within its boundaries are more than eight million residents of Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, New York, and Maryland. The District’s missions include dredging waterways, protecting communities from flooding and coastal storms, responding to natural and declared disasters, regulating construction in the nation’s waters and wetlands, remediating environmental hazards, restoring ecosystems, building facilities for the Army and Air Force, and providing engineering, contracting and project management services for other government agencies.
